Welcome Esteemed Students!   I am honored and blessed to have you in my classroom. My goal is for you to become an informed, engaged and productive citizen.   My combination of related academic and work experience has fully prepared me for this position. I have been in education for 18 years at Surry Community College and will start my second year at John F. Kennedy High School.  I have been a Mount Airy City Commissioner, 2 term Mayor and radio broadcaster.  I have a very strong work ethic and run the classroom intelligently and smartly.  I truly care about each student and have written countless letters of recommendations for their college applications, scholarships, jobs, Winston-Salem Urban League and other areas.  I convey how the concepts learned in class apply in life and prepare students for real world experiences. I focus on the needs of each student.  I encourage student to think critically and not put limits on their thinking.  I instill the belief in students that all thing are possible.  I am one of the advisor for FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) with is a Career and Technical Student Organization.  I was a FBLA member in college.  This business organization connects you to business and industry professionals while exploring career options and enhancing related school-based and work-based learning.  Last year we took students to Regional competition and every JF Kennedy student placed in the top 4 out of all high schools in North Carolina. I am eager to see what the future holds for you.
