    Dear Parents,

Parkland Magnet High School was recently named a 2022-2024 National PTA School of Excellence! National PTA’s School of Excellence program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools that work to improve the educational experience and school environment for every child. As a National PTA School of Excellence, at Parkland Magnet High School, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. The School of Excellence program provided guidance to assist our school in engaging families in school decision-making, and help our school build inclusive policies related to education, health, safety or the arts.

Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence began with the joint commitment of PTA and our phenomenal administrative team to work together to welcome all families, communicate effectively, support student success, speak up for every child, share power and collaborate with the community. Our school has successfully mastered these commitments and we applaud everyone for doing so.

The path to excellence is a journey, not a destination, and we encourage your continued participation toward our goals, as this distinction places our PTA in the running to become a Phoebe Apperson Hearst Award recipient, which recognizes success in integrating family-school partnerships. We are extremely proud of the work that we have done to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students.

    Parkland PTSA 2023-2024 Goals
    • Increase parent/student involvement
    • Improve financial support from our community
Show YOUR support for Parkland and the PTSA!

JOIN THE PTSA  – Membership is $10 per person. Memberships are valid for one year (July 1 - June 30). Parents, teachers & staff, students, grandparents, and community members may join.  Of the membership fee, $4 is sent to NC & National PTA and $4 remains at Parkland to support our school’s programs.  You can join at Open House and PTSA meetings, pick up a membership form from the school office, or join online.

DONATE TO THE PTSA - To help finance the proposed PTSA programs for this year, we are holding a Direct Donation campaign.  Your donation allows us to dedicate 100% of the funds for programs to benefit our students and faculty.  Any amount is appreciated!  Donations are tax-deductible and can be made by cash or check (payable to Parkland PTSA) or online here. Own a local business?  Ask us how your business can support Parkland, students, teachers, PTSA, athletics, or band programs.

VOLUNTEER – High schools need volunteers just as much as lower schools!  We need a few more people for our PTSA board or you can sign up to help one of the committees such as Hospitality and Student Programs.  Being involved with PTSA does not require much time!  Everyone who wants to volunteer with WS/FCS must first complete a new Volunteer Service Application at www.wsfcsvolunteers.com.
