Welcome to German!

 

In German 1 and 2 students are introduced to the basics of the German Language and the cultures of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein. 

 

Why should you learn German?

 

German Companies have a large presence in the Southern US.  Out of around 2000 German companies that have offices in the US, around 800 of them have offices in the South!  BMW has a plant in Greenville, South Carolina.  The Austrian Company Blum, a hinge manufacturer that supplies hinges to IKEA, has a plant in Stanley, NC.

 

German's love to travel.  If you travel or work in the tourist industry, you might run into one.

 

Germany has the second highest presence on the internet.  The number of sites registered with the German extension .de is second only to .com.
