• This is a voluntary program for 6th-8th graders in which students have opportunities to demonstrate their leadership qualities. Student Ambassadors will help organize, plan, and carry out many school and community wide projects.

    Mission: 

    To provide Student Ambassadors an opportunity to represent 
    HANES MAGNET as leaders in school and community wide projects. Students are committed to lead by example, demonstrate respect and responsibility, and engage in service.

    Who is eligible:
    Responsible 6-8 graders that are nominated by teachers.

    Qualifications:
    A positive attitude and outlook at school, maintains good academic standards, good self-discipline, a willingness to help others, dependable and enjoys meeting and talking to new people.

    Application Process:

    Students are nominated by teachers.
    If they are interested, the students and parents will complete the application and parent permission form.  A teacher committee will approve the student ambassadors.

     

    Meeting Times:

    Students will meet once a quarter to discuss upcoming events and missions.

    Students may meet to help out with special events.

     

    Duties Include:

    *Take new students on school tours (Take turns; tour as needed - weekly)

    *Greet business and college partners and welcome them to Hanes

    *Greet and speak to prospective parents during Open House events

    *Give a treat and card to teachers with birthdays

    *Help plan a special event for efforts such as Teacher Appreciation Week

    *Show leadership with school efforts such as Red Ribbon Week, Food Drives, collections events, etc. (Help put up posters, etc.)

    *Help support and recognize students 

    *Give out quarterly award for STEM, grade level’s etc.; Give out a certificate to an outstanding class
