Hello Easton Eagles,
This is my 15th year as a school counselor and my third year at Easton Elementary! I am excited to work with you this year to help meet your academic/career/and personal social needs.
I have been married for 13 years and I have three elementary aged children who are in 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade this year. I also have a schnoodle (a combo of schnauzer and poodle) named Rosie who is 4 years old and a boston terrier named Bodie who is 1!
This year I will work with all students on having a Growth Mindset! I will also continue to offer individual and small group counseling for students. Some of the things we work on in counseling are expressing feelings, processing emotions, social skills, grief and loss, and a number of other topics that are relevant to students. Students or parents/guardians can reach out to me anytime with questions or concerns.
In my room students will find an area where I employ play techniques to accomplish the goals of counseling. Play is often used with younger students who sort their feelings through the process of play rather than relying on "talk" therapy. I also employ techniques of sandtray counseling and this technique can be used by students of all ages to achieve counseling goals.
This year I am also chair of the CARES team which is a group of school employees working together to keep students engaged this year in our school learning environment. I am also the 504 coordinator for Easton Elementary. If a student has a qualifying condition that requires them to have a 504 plan to maintain equal access to their education, I help facilitate the plans for those students.
I am here to serve YOU. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns you have that are related to school in general and any mental health needs you may have. This is going to be a great school year and I’m excited to see my returning Eagles as well as our new Eagles!
Love,
Mrs. Nail
