• Student Government
Atkins High School Student Government seeks to provide leadership opportunities for students.  It aims to promote student participation, civic mindedness, and school pride within the Camel Community.  Officers are elected by the student body but meetings and events are open to all interested students, faculty, and staff.  Each grade level is represented by four elected offices and the student body as a whole is represented by an additional three elected officers.  Student Government meets on the second and fourth Friday in the Media Center from 4:00-5:00.  Past activities include: hosting Powderpuff Football, Student/Staff Basketball Game, purchasing new microwaves for the cafeteria, sponsoring various dances (including Homecoming and Winter Dance), and organizing themes for sporting events and Earth Day.
All students are welcomed and encouraged to attend meetings, regardless of whether or not they are an elected officer.
Dr. Chris Nichols is the advisor.
