I am so happy that I became Piney Grove's Instructional Facilitator during the summer of 2018. I graduated from Wake Forest with a degree in Elementary Education and got my Academically and Intellectually Gifted certification from High Point University. I have my National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in Early/Middle Childhood Literacy: English Languages Arts. Before becoming Piney Grove's IF, I taught several different grades and subjects, including 5th grade AIG, 4th grade, 3rd grade, a science special, a math special, and reading interventions (K-4). Of everything I have taught, I love being the IF at Piney Grove most of all! It is a true joy to work with the teachers, administration, and families at PGE!
What does an Instructional Facilitator do? The best answer is this: I help teachers! More specifically, at Piney Grove, this role includes facilitating weekly Professional Learning Team meetings, supporting the administration, assisting teachers and staff with various instructional tasks, helping students, coordinating Professional Development, analyzing data, and planning for the future. Part of the wonderful thing about this position is that I can be responsive to anything the administration, teachers, or students need!
