Spotlight on the Exceptional Children's (EC) Department

    EC Department Goals

Our EC Department firmly believes in providing quality instruction in every aspect of our program as well as supporting parents in the many decisions they make for their children's successes in high school and in the future.

Communication with parents and general education teachers is vital for the success of every student. Yearly IEP meetings are held in addition to parent-teacher conferences when requested. Report cards and IEP progress reports are sent home quarterly with students.

The Exceptional Children's Department is comprised of certified EC teachers, EC assistants, an EC job coach, and a case manager who are housed on the campus of West Forsyth High School. Related and support staff consist of a speech pathologist, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, a hearing impaired teacher, a vocational rehabilitation counselor, and a school psychologist who serve individuals with documented exceptionalities.
