    About Mrs. Harvey

I grew up in South Carolina.  I graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.S. in Chemistry and from the University of South Carolina (go cocks!) with a M.S. in Chemistry.  My master's thesis is on the bioincorporation of unnatural amino acids into proteins.  I earned my National Board Teaching Certification in 2008.  I was selected as a Kenan Fellow for 2013 and my project is "Pump New Life into the Classroom Using Biofuels."  I did research and writing curriculum at NC A&T University in Greensboro.  I was honored as the West Forsyth Teacher of the Year for 2014 and was named a District Semi-finalist.

I have taught at West for 19 years, mainly teaching Chemistry and Physics.  I live in Clemmons with my husband and my 2 children.  In my free time, I like to travel, shop, read and spend time outside.  I love West sports, college football, and soccer.
