My goals this 2016-17 school year are growth in reading comprehension
    and
improved writing skills for all of my students through collaboration
and student focused learning using lots of interactive activities.

Research shows that regular reading will improve comprehension and writing. It sharpens your mind and boosts test scores. Reading strategies can be used to help understand all forms of text including stories, poetry, science, social studies and math word problems.

                                                                 read
Students should always carry a book.  Students will be reading in each ESL class.

This is my eighth year teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Clemmons Middle School. I continue to learn and discover many new things to incorporate into my lessons. It is my goal that each student improves as a speaker, listener, reader and writer of the English language.
