Marty has a passion for learning and ensuring all students' learning needs are met. His experience as a middle school science teacher inspired him to find creative and fun ways to energize, motivate and teach students. Technology was one component to his recipe. Marty's goal is to bring that same energy to his current position so that all students in the district can receive instruction designed and catered to their unique personalities and needs.

Prior to joining WSFCS in February 2017, Charlotte served as a high school Business Education teacher, Curriculum Facilitator, Assistant Principal, and an Academic Literary coach. She is an Apple Teacher and Microsoft Office Specialist certified in Word and PowerPoint. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration - Management and obtained her business education licensure from North Carolina A&T State University.  Her master's degree is in Educational Leadership from UNC-Chapel Hill.  Charlotte's goal is to serve as additional support for teachers and administrators to effectively integrate the NC Digital Learning Competencies into their instructional best practices.

Leigh Hopkins

Prior to joining the WS/FCS DTL team, Leigh has 11 years of experience teaching 5th grade and 6th grade math. She also has 9 years of experience as a technology facilitator in Rockingham, Davidson, and Cabarrus counties. Leigh attended Appalachian State University for her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education as well as her graduate degree in Educational Media and Technology. In 2001 Leigh was honored to receive National Board certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist.  Leigh desires to partner with the teachers of WS/FCS to integrate technology into their classrooms to engage, inspire, and ignite a passion for learning in the students they teach.

Prior to coaching, Yu’Vonne was a Spanish teacher at a magnet school for 14 years. Because of this, she has experience working with a diverse population of students. She really wants to help teachers transform their pedagogy to incorporate 21st-century skills using technology integration as the vehicle. Yu’Vonne earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish from Penn State University and her master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.

Maree entered the classroom in 1999 as a middle school resource and inclusion teacher, and taught K - 12 children with special needs in a variety of settings in Onslow and Yadkin Counties. She returned to school in 2006 to earn her Master's in Instructional Technology from ECU. She began her career in WS/FCS as a computer skills teacher and tech facilitator, working at North Hills Elementary and Hall-Woodward Elementary before becoming a Digital Teaching and Learning coach in 2018.  Maree is passionate about helping learners of all ages and abilities realize the possibilities of collaborating and creating with technology.

Jerry's background is in high school STEM education. Prior to joining the DTL team, he taught Project Lead the Way Engineering courses in Orange County, NC.  He also directed and taught 3d Printing and Drone Camps through Duke Youth Programs. Jerry also leads media coordinators in implementing design-thinking and standards-based makerspace activities. He enjoys using the experience he gained as a classroom teacher to assist in integrating technology into daily instruction.

Megan spent 21 years in the classroom teaching Spanish, French, and Humanities.  She has a B.A in French and Spanish from Moravian College, and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education with a concentration in Spanish.  She is an Apple Teacher and has experience with face-to-face instruction, the paperless classroom, and online teaching. When she received a grant for 1:1 iPads in her classroom, this technology was so transformative that she began working with teachers at the district and state levels on leveraging technology to engage and empower students.  She hopes to inspire teachers with this same enthusiam to use the Promethean ActivPanels to support quality, engaging instruction for all students in our district.

Jonathan is joining Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools after 7 years in Davie County and 2 years in Guilford County all teaching 8th grade science. He graduated with a BS in Biology from the University of Richmond and an M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology from North Carolina State University. Jonathan also earned his National Board Certification in early adolescence science.
