    Welcome to Mrs. Carlson's Class
     
    Welcome parents and students to the 2015-2016 fourth grade school year. I have been teaching for ten years in the WS/FC school system.  I received my undergraduate degree and elementary teaching certification from Salem College.  After teaching for six years, I realized how important reading is to a learner's education success so I earned my Masters in Reading Education from Appalachain State University.  I have lived in Winston-Salem with my family for 27 years and enjoy everything about North Carolina-from the mountains to the coast.  I have two grown children and one sweet dog named Cammie that loves to play fetch.   I enjoy teaching and helping students make new discoveries about themselves and their everyday world.   My door is always open - so come and say hello!
