    Lead Teacher: Susan Long
    Assistant Teacher: Lisha McAllister
Greetings parents, families, and colleagues!  Lisha and I look forward to getting to know you and forming partnerships as we work together over the 2015-2016 school year.  We welcome your valuable insights and participation in the classroom.
    About Me

I have lived in Winston-Salem for most of my life, and I attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools as a child.  I earned a B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies with Birth through Kindergarten licesure from UNC-Greensboro.  I continued my education at Salem College resulting in a M.Ed. with advanced licensure.  In November 2010, I achieved certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist.  Over the years, I have worked with young children with and without special needs in a variety of settings.  This is my eighth year at The Children's Center, and my thirteenth year with the WS/FC school system.

    About Lisha
Lisha has been a part of The Children’s Center family for the past four years.  She became involved with The Children's Center though an internship experience.  She did such a good job that we wanted to keep her around after she graduated from Winston-Salem State University!  Lisha assisted in the school-age program before joining the Infant-Toddler staff.
    Important Reminders

Our instructional day begins at 7:40, and most therapies and activities occur in the morning.  We will be active in the learning process, so please make sure children wear comforable clothing that can get messy.  The day ends at 2:25, and children who are not enrolled in afternoon child care should be picked up then.  In order to promote good health and safety for all, it is critical that we have up to date contact information at all times.  Please keep us informed of changes throughout the year.
