I went to college at the University of Maine where I earned a degree in K-12 physical education. I received my K-5 classroom certification through work at Winston Salem State and North Carolina A&T.

    Third Grade

Third grade is an important stepping stone in your child's education. This year will be the first year that they will have to take the EOG test. The EOG (End of Grade) test measures how much progress each child is making from the beginning to the end of the year.

It is important to help your child at home reach their educational goals. Each evening (even during weekends) children should spend between 20 - 30 min. a night reading. Have your child read to you. If you show that reading is important then they will find reading important.

In third grade students need to learn the multiplication facts. They need to understand the concepts involving multiplication. The need to memorize the facts up to 12. Learning the multiplication facts will help the children learn their division facts.

Please work with your child at home. Please inform me of any problems that you are seeing at home. I want your child to have a great year.
