I have been teaching at East for 15 years, but have been a part of the Eagle Family since 1991. I hold North Carolina teaching certificates in Family and Consumer Sciences and Health Education. I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Exercise & Sports Science from UNC-Greensboro and my Masters in Health Education and Promotion from East Carolina University. In addition to teaching, I am also our First Responder for Athletics, as well as one of the sponsors of the Senior Deans Council. Family and Consumer Sciences DepartmentPersonal FinanceContact info: jlcresimore@wsfcs.k12.nc.us336-703-6735Sports Medicine ISports Medicine I is a survey course covering topics related to Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. Students will learn about the recognition, treatment, and prevention of athletic injuries as well as receive certifications through the American Heart Association in Adult CPR/AED/First Aid. Students will have the opportunity to observe sports medicine operations and techniques through opportunities with the East Forsyth Athletics Department.Sports Medicine IISports Medicine II is a second level course designed to explore the field of sports medicine and the profession of athletic training. Course objectives will cover the following; Injuries, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation to specific areas of the body including lower extremity (ankle, foot, knee, hip), upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand), cervical spine/brain injuries and re-certification in CPR/First Aid/AED if needed.
Personal Finance is a course designed to prepare students to make financial decisions as well as understanding the basic principles of being financially independent. The course covers topics related to banking, saving, investing, earning, and spending.
Another component to the course is the completion of EverFi, a web-based financial literacy certification program. Upon completion of all modules, students receive a certificate of completion. Many colleges and employers are encouraging students to become financially literate, this program puts our students one step ahead!
