Welcome to the 2015-2016 Eagles' Nest!
Instructor Biography
I am Mrs. Stephanie Wallace and this is my 16th year at EFHS. I am married to Jonathan and we have two beautiful children, Breanna (11), who attends East Forsyth Middle School, and Nathanael (9) who attends Cash Elementary. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and I received my Bachelor's Degrees in Secondary English Education and Holocaust History from UNC-Greensboro while studying as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I completed my Master of Arts in Education Degree with a concentration in English/Language Arts through the University of Phoenix. In addition to teaching at East, I am also an online adjunct professor for DeVry University and I teach English for North Carolina Virtual Public Schools. I absolutely love teaching and can't wait to continue this year's adventures!
What, Where, and How
What: This year I will teach the North Carolina Teacher Cadet I & II Program, High School English II, English II, English II Honors, and English II Seminar. I am also the Future Teachers of America (FTA) Sponsor.
Where: I "live" in Room 1108 which is upstairs in the Main Office building.
How: I check my email several times a day and will always return emails within 24 hours. You may contact me at swallace@wsfcs.k12.nc.us. If you do not hear from me within the 24 hour period, please try again or contact me through the main office at (336) 703-6735. Keep in mind I am at the mercy of a phone message, so it may take me a little longer to return your call.
In addition to my school email address, I also have a Gmail account that is linked to the Schoology resource that students will use throughout the course. If my school system account filters your email address, that may be why I don't reply within the 24 hours. You may also try contacting me at mrswallaceefhs@gmail.com.
Why
My webpage is a great resource! You will find a link to each course under which I place class notes, classroom presentations, copies of course documents (syllabus, Edmodo instructions, etc.). I also keep a calendar with homework assignments, test/quiz dates, and project due dates. When a student is absent, he/she can come to the webpage to find out what we accomplished in class and if any work was assigned for completion outside of the classroom.
Please check this page frequently for updates and valuable information!
