    Who Comes Back to Campus When:

    Thu. Apr. 1 – WORKDAY – NO SCHOOL

    Spring Break April 2-9

    For the week of April 12:

    Mon. & Tue. April 12 & 13 - Cohorts 1 & 3 on campus

    April 14 - Flex Wednesday - 10th graders and select 12th graders on campus for state testing

    Thu. & Fri. April 15 & 16 - Cohorts 2 & 4 on campus

     

    For the week of April 19:

    Any student who RSVP'ed that they are returning to in-person learning are allowed on campus every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for the rest of the school year.

     

    • Bring school-issued chromebooks to campus each day - fully charged
    • if riding a bus, bring bus letter or take a picture of it
    • bring your paper class schedule so you will know room numbers for classes
    • Required screening stations do not open until 8:30am each morning.  Car riders & student drivers remain INSIDE their vehicle until screened. Enter campus ONLY through the West Mountain St. entrance.  NO cars allowed to enter at Hastings Hill Bus lot entrance.
    • At dismissal each afternoon, NO vehicles are allowed to enter campus at the Hastings Hill Rd. Bus lot entrance for any reason

    The ASVAB will be administered at East on April 28th at 9am in the Media Center. Space will be limited due to COVID restrictions. So, the 1st 25 students that sign up with Mr. Cockerham through email, vcockerh@wsfcs.k12.nc.us, will be allowed to take the assessment.

     

    On Wednesday, April 14, all 10th grade students will take the PreACT at East Forsyth High School.  This is a free opportunity for your student to practice for the ACT their junior year and is a requirement of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Please plan to arrive on campus between 8:30 and 8:45 to be screened.  Also please bring a mask, a photo id, a pencil, and a calculator. Please call Jen Watson at 336-748-4000 ext. 72522 if you have any questions!

     

    The senior class council is working in conjunction with the senior parents to offer a school spirit tshirt to commemorate an unforgettable year (though we might like to forget it).

    The shirts are 100% preshrunk cotton, unisex sizing and all students, staff, parents, etc. are invited to order. Orders are open now through 3/31 and must be paid for before the order closes on March 31.  The cost is $12 and it is a school spirit shirt for all grades and faculty/staff

    This year, WS/FCS sophomores, juniors, and seniors will have the opportunity to participate in the 2021 Virtual CIAA High School Education Day event.  The event starts with a 30-minute introduction followed by time for students to select and virtually visit college booths to learn more about the HBCU colleges within the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).  The Education Day event will be held on Wednesday, February 24 (B Day for high schools) starting at 10 am.

    Important ACT FAQs

    What is the ACT? The ACT is a nationally normed achievement test to measure college and career readiness. The ACT is for all juniors and the 22 seniors who did not take it last Spring at East Forsyth. This test is a wonderful opportunity to get a FREE college reportable score for college applications. 

     

    When is the ACT? February 23rd at 8:30 AM. Please arrive at 8:30 for Covid-19 screening and please bring a mask, a photo ID, a No. 2 pencil, and a calculator. Testing should end after 1:00pm.

     

    Do I need to register? NO. If you are a junior you are automatically registered to take the ACT on February 23rd. You will be marked present for your other classes on that day.
