It's 3 weeks in duration, M-F, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM from 6/17-7/8 and students can choose between attending one of two programs: Advanced Manufacturing or Transportation Technology. If you are bringing a guest that does not attend East, you will need to fill out a prom guest form. If you are a senior and want to run for Prom King or Queen, please stop by room 503 to see Mrs. Vera by March 28th. 

    1. Prom tickets will be on sale during all 3 lunches from April 17-24. All school dues and fees must be paid before purchasing tickets. 
    2. If seniors want to run for Prom King or Prom Queen, they must attend a brief meeting after school on Monday, April 15th in room 503. 
    3. Men's Warehouse is hosting an exclusive prom event for East Forsyth this Sunday, April 14th at 930am.The address is 3282 Silas Creek Parkway Winston-Salem NC 27103. Please let students know they can attend and rent their prom attire during this time. The school also has access to prom dresses. Please see Mrs. Vera in room 503 if interested.

    Need Help in Math?  The Math Honor Society at East Forsyth offers a free peer tutoring program every week Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:45-4:15 pm in room 302.  They can help all levels of math and no reservation is required, just stop by!  

    Tutoring starts Tues Oct 3rd and runs through Thurs May 2nd

    ***no tutoring on Oct 24, Nov 21, 1st sem exam break Jan 16 – Feb 1, or Mar 28. 

     

    All 9th and 10th grader Scholars are required to complete and submit at least two (2) hours of Community Service by April 24th. Spring Break opportunities are listed in the Crosby Portal and ongoing opportunities are listed on our website. Scholars must submit the Crosby Community Service Form - our Form is online, requires no signatures, and is easy to submit.

    Student Trooper Program: 

    The purpose of the North Carolina American Legion Student Trooper Program is to create an association between our young people and the men and women who are responsible for enforcing the laws of our State.  It is our belief that they young men and women who participate in the Student Trooper Program will develop favorable attitudes toward Law Enforcement and will articulate those attitudes throughout their communities and among their peers. 

    Deadline for submission to Post #36 is 17 May 2024.  Post #36 will select the winners to attend the program by 30 May 2024.  Individuals selected to attend will be notified by email and or telephone.

    Post #36 is seeking to sponsor at least two (2) students.  The 28th Annual Student Trooper Session will be held on July 14-19, 2024.

    The CTE Summer Camp Opportunities have been announced! See the attached listing for camp descriptions. These Summer Camps are open to students who are currently in 7th – 11th grades, They are FREE and transportation is provided! The camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. during June and July. Students can sign up for multiple camps.

    The Spring Panorama Survey starts Monday, March 4th thru Monday, March 25th. This is an opportunity to make sure that the voices, needs, and values of all our staff members, students, and families are being heard.

    Accessing Surveys

    Students:

    Staff:

    • Teachers (instructional staff)will access their survey by navigating to panoramaed.com/winstonsalem/teacher and selecting their school from a drop down menu. (Teachers are any certified staff who provide instruction to students every day.)
    • Staff (non-instructional staff)will access their survey by navigating to panoramaed.com/winstonsalem/staff and selecting their school from a drop down menu. (Staff are anyone who does not provide instruction daily. This includes cafeteria workers, custodians, counselors, administrators, etc.)
    • Teacher and staff surveys will take around 25 minutes to complete. 
    • Both surveys are anonymous. No identifying information will be gathered.

    Opt-Out Procedures

    • First, if any family would like their student to opt-out of the survey, use this updated Opt-Out formto send home. It is available in both English and Spanish, containing details about the survey modifications from the previous year. You will need to make a copy of this document and edit this form to include your school’s contact information. Ensure families are informed of the deadline for submission before the survey date.

    When you receive Opt-Out forms back from some of your families, please give them to me immediately. I will keep a school-based list of students who will not be taking the survey and I will inform the Teachers ASAP. Please let families know the deadline for submission before the survey date will be March 12, 2024.  When you receive Opt-Out forms back from some of your families, I will keep a school-based list of students who will not be taking the survey and communicate this information with survey administrators before the survey is given. This will help make sure all survey administrators know who will not be taking the survey.

    The ASVAB will be given on March 26 at 9am in the Media Center. Please sign up to take the ASVAB in Student Services.  The ASVAB is a career assessment that is not just for military service but for all students to help discover a career path that matches a student's interests and skills. Taking the ASVAB does not require anyone to pursue military service; but of course, serving in the military is always a choice and a worthwhile and rewarding career path.

    Semester 1 exams will be given January 18 - 24, 2023. Please do not schedule doctor’s appointments, vacations, etc. during testing days. It is important that all students taking exams are present. Students are required to take all state exams in EOC and CTE courses.     This holiday shopping season, you can put your dollars back into the local community and enjoy fresh baked North Carolina treats. Shop for holiday treats at the East Forsyth Band Boosters’ Dewey’s Bakery Fundraising Store at 1030-K South Main Street, Kernersville (near The Loop)! From Moravian Cookies and Sugar Cake to delicious Cheese Straws, you’re sure to find the perfect gift. Proceeds will go toward supporting all the instrumental music programs at East Forsyth High School.

    The store opened last Saturday and will be open every day except Thanksgiving day until December 23rd.  Regular Operating hours will be Monday – Saturday 11 am – 7 pm and Sunday 12 pm – 6 pm.

    We are excited to announce that the biannual Fall Panorama Survey has opened and will run through November 6. Our school will continue to gather data on students and teachers/staff. This year's survey is shorter and students and teacher/staff participation in this survey is the best way to help the district make decisions using your input and feedback as the guide.

    Students that have medications on campus in the front office must pick up their medications by Friday, June 9 by 4:00 pm. If students ride a bus, their parent or guardian must pick up the medication. Students who drive to school or carpool may take their medications.     Every student who applied to NHS should have received a letter at school from a teacher this week.  Please see Mrs. Morgan in room 1100 if you haven't received your letter.

     

    Need Help in Math?  The Math Honor Society at East Forsyth offers a free peer tutoring program every week Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:45-4:15 pm in room 302.  They can help all levels of math and no reservation is required, just stop by!  

    Tutoring starts Tues Oct 18th and runs through Thurs April 27th 

    ***no tutoring on Oct 25, Nov 1, Nov 21, 1st semester exam break Jan 17 – Jan 26, or March 30.

    Any men or women interested in joining the wrestling team need to contact Coach Lambert.  We need a lot of people to fill in weight classes for this year.  If you have never tried it before, now is your chance to do something new and different.
