• All students at Old Richmond Elementary School attend computer classes in our computer lab every other week.  Each class lasts 45 minutes and students have opportunities to use various software programs, to explore on-line resources and to try out new technology tools each week.  Hands-on practice is the number one focus of our technology instruction.
     
    In the 2011-12 school year, North Carolina schools began teaching the Information and Technology Essential Standards.  The five main standards are:
    • SI: Sources of Information
    • IN: Informational Text
    • TT: Technology as a Tool
    • RP: Research Process
    • SE: Safety and Ethical Issues
