I am very excited to be embarking on my second year as Principal at Gibson Elementary and look forward to working with you and your child to ensure their success. I began my career in education by earning my first undergraduate degree from East Carolina University. I then went on to earn my teaching certificate at Winston-Salem State University and then attended graduate school at Gardner-Webb University. There, I earned a master's degree in Elementary Education and a second master's degree in School Administration. I also attended Liberty University and now hold the advanced degree of Educational Specialist. This school year marks my twentieth year in education. Prior to coming to Gibson Elementary, I was an assistant principal at Moore Magnet Elementary, Sedge Garden Elementary School and North Hills Elementary School. Over the years I have taught first through third grades, as well as special education at Ibraham Elementary School and Clemmons Elementary School. When I am not working with children, I am a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserves. I've been in the Army for over 27 years and I am currently serving as a graduate school instructor for the Command and General Staff College.
