eBook Collection and Digital Subscriptions - Keep Reading!

Although schools are closed for now, e-Learning continues! We want to make sure you know that we have hundreds of eBooks available to read from our Speas Destiny catalog. Students can log in to Destiny with their student number as username and password. Although the physical library is closed at this time, the eLibrary is open, and we hope you will continue to read the great books in our collection! We have added several hundred more eBooks for our digital collection.

We have also added two new subscriptions for eLearning/digital books. Check the Destiny home page Useful Links section for links to our new subcriptions for Tumblebooks and PebbleGo! Many of the resources are in Spanish, too.

     Book Fair March 9 - 13, 2020 - Thanks for Your Support

Our annual  Spring Scholastic Book fair was March 9-13, 2020. On Tuesday evening, March 10, we had Family Night, and the PTA had a Clothing Exchange in the cafeteria during that time, as well. Thanks for your support during the Book Fair! We had a great turnout. Profits from the Book Fair will be used to add more books to our school library collection!

    Welcome to the Media Center!!!
We are excited to be the IB PYP (International Baccalaureate - Primary Years Programme) for WSFCS, and we strive to promote that image in our media center as well! We frequently explore the world in the media center, and we invite you to participate in our Global Readers program.  We have "Open Checkout" all day to make the library more accessible, with flexible library times and early morning checkout during the Morning Choice/Breakfast time.   The library is open Monday through Friday from 7:25 am until the end of the school day.  Please let me know if you would like to recommend a particular book or author for our collection.
All schools in the county are on the Destiny computerized library system.  This enables all schools in our county system to share information with each other, and it also has some great search capabilities.  Best of all, the database is available online from any location with an internet connection, which enables our students to find, not only the books in the media center, but also all those great Destiny  website sources from home, too.
    Vision Statement

The school library program of Speas Global Elementary School is the hub for our community of learners, providing flexible access and appropriate materials for all students, and assisting staff and students to be active and responsible participants in the global interchange of information.

Do you have a book to recommend?

We try to add new books each year based on what our readers like to read! If you have a suggestion for a new title, or popular author or series, please click on the following link to let us know! Thanks!
