    Fifth Grade
Welcome to Mrs. Whicker's Fifth Grade Class

First Grade will be a year of discovery. My goal is for each student, is to discovery the gift, that learning new things can be, and how to use their gifts to make a difference in the world.

My name is Elaine Whicker and I have been teaching elementary school for 35 years.  I have taught grades kindergarten through fifth. I have taught first grade for the last ten years, but taught fifth grade for the six years prior to that. I have been a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church since 1982, when I moved to Walkertown. My christian faith is a very important part of my life. I grew up in at the foot of the mountains, in Morganton, NC. I am a graduate of Western Carolina University. I taught in Bassett, VA for four years before coming to Walkertown. I have a wealth of experience teaching all subjects. I am looking forward to teaching your child this year and getting to know them as the person ther are. Children this age have so much potential and I will do all I can to help them reach their goals.
