I'm Lindsay Mikesell, assistant principal.  I've been an Eagle for 11 years, and I'm looking forward to year number twelve.  Whitaker is a fantastic place to learn, grow and take FLIGHT!  In collaboration with our community and families, we strive to meet the needs of every student, every day.
In 2007, I was selected as a North Carolina Principal Fellow, class 14, and earned my masters degree in school administration at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.  Prior to serving at Whitaker, I served as assistant principal at Ashley Elementary for 2 years.  Central Michigan University was home for me and where I completed my undergraduate work.  After I graduated in 2000, I taught English and Spanish at various schools in Guilford County and Michigan.
Life with my family, my husband, a 3rd grader, 2 dogs, a cat, and 2 hermit crabs, can be busy and crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  We enjoy going to Wet n' Wild, swimming, church, the beach, and cooking.  Ali, our 3rd grader, aspires to be a baker.  We love learning together, and we get lots of opportunities to do that.
Please feel free to contact me for questions about field trips, transportation, discipline, breakfast and lunch balances, volunteering, etc.  I am always willing to help, and I will direct you to the person who can best help if I am unable to.
