I'm Lindsay Mikesell, assistant principal.  I've been an Eagle for 12 years, and I'm looking forward to another terrific year.  Whitaker is a fantastic place to learn, grow and take FLIGHT!  In collaboration with our community and families, we strive to meet the needs of every student, every day.

In 2007, I was selected as a North Carolina Principal Fellow, class 14, and earned my master's degree in school administration at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.  Prior to serving at Whitaker, I served as assistant principal at Ashley Elementary for 2 years.  I spent my undergrad years at Central Michigan University (Go Chips!!) studying English and Spanish for secondary education.  After I graduated in 2000, I taught English and Spanish at various schools in Guilford County and Michigan.

Life with my family, my husband, a 4th grader, 2 dogs, and a cat, can be busy and crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  We enjoy going to Wet n' Wild, swimming, church, the beach, and cooking.  Ali, our 4th grader, aspires to be a contortionist.  We love learning together, and we get lots of opportunities to do that.

Please feel free to contact me for questions about field trips, transportation, discipline, breakfast and lunch balances, volunteering, etc.  I am always willing to help, and I will direct you to the person who can best help if I am unable to.
