English II & III
Increased Home-School communication, increased parent involvement,
Real-time student progress reporting (Seven days a week, 24 hours a day).
The 2016-2017 school year will be my eighth working at Glenn High School. I'm still very excited to teach English II, in which we explore World Literature and prepare for the EOC. As with the last few years, I am also teaching English III (second semester), which will focus on American literature. Here's hoping this year's students maintain the high standards from last year's!
I should warn you: both courses are very heavy on reading and writing.
We will begin by studying:
English II English III
- First day materials, syllabus, etc. - First day materials, syllabus, etc.
- Archetypes - Early American writings
- The Epic of Gilgamesh - The Crucible
Don't forget to visit the Course Documents page to catch up on anything you might have missed.
And make sure to sign up for Remind. It's as simple as sending a text!
1) Send a text to this number: 81010
2) With the correct code
--- Engish II sends: @scs2
--- English III sends: @scs3
3) Reply to that text with your name if it asks you to, and that's it!
Since I'm also one of the school's soccer coaches, I'm going to also take this opportunity to provide one of the most important documents to any athlete: the link to the 2016-2017 Athletic Physical Form!
Make sure you update it yearly, as it's good for 395 days. Keep it current and play hard!
