Mrs. Watkins, Director of CounselingThe counseling program at Walkertown High School is designed to assist students in making the most of their educational experience. Counselors are concerned about students' emotional well-being, academic progress, personal, social and career development. We meet with students both individually and in groups, and work together with a team of dedicated specialists within the school system and with outside community agencies to help determine and meet the various needs of students.
I have a master's degree in school counseling from North Carolina A & T State University, whose graduate program is accredited by the American Counseling Association's Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the nationally recognized accrediting agency for counseling graduate programs. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and I am certified as a school counselor by the state of North Carolina. In addition, I am a member of the North Carolina School Counselor's Association. I also hold a bachelor of music degree in violin performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts, where I also worked for 11 years.
All students participate in the school counseling program on a regular basis. In the event you have questions about the counseling program, please call me at (336) 703-4152 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
