Dr. Amy Johnson Williams, LPC
School Counselor (last names C-G), AP Coordinator, Governor's School Liaison
This is the beginning of my 9th year at R. J. Reynolds High School. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have worked in a wide range of settings including private practice, psychiatric hospitals, residential substance abuse for adolescents, a group home, and school counseling for over 20 years. I enjoy getting to know all different types of people and learning about their hopes for the future as well as helping them to develop a map to achieve those dreams. It is rewarding to see people discover new talents, gain new skills, and overcome the hurdles that inevitably occur in all of our lives.
I was born in Alabama and have moved over 20 times. I have lived on the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, North, and South. North Carolina is my favorite place of all with it's Southern culture, friendly people, ocean, mountains, and all 4 seasons and the prettiest Spring in the whole country! I have earned my B.A. in psychology from North Carolina State University, M.A. in counseling psychology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL and Ph.D. in counseling from Ohio University. I completed a school counseling certificate from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University. Yes, I've been in school for way too long!!
Reynolds is a special place and I love it for it's diversity and arts. Everyone has a place here and adds something unique to our school. You are welcome here! We are glad you are here! How will you make Reynolds an even better place?
