Walkertown High School (WHS) fielded its first softball team in school history during the 2011-2012 school.  With much anticipation, WHS impressed many umpires, players, and parents from other teams.

The WHS softball team opened its season at home on February 29th, 2012 vs. Mt. Tabor.  Olivia Dunivant was the starting pitcher; the first pitch was a 'strike.'  The first batter up for Walkertown in the bottom of the 1st was Brianna Balderston; she walked.  The first hit came from Heather Sapper.  The first run was scored by Brianna Balderston by Heather Sapper's hit.  WHS softball team won their first game on the same day with the score of Mt. Tabor: 3 - Walkertown: 11.

The first home run in WHS softball history was hit on March 29th, 2012 vs. Glenn by Olivia Dunivant!
