    About Sra. Bennett

    Abbie and me

For the past 22 years I have taught Spanish. I'm from a tiny town, Pikeville, in Eastern North Carolina. After graduating from Barton College (formerly Atlantic Christian) with a BA in Spanish with K-12 Foreign Language certification, I began teaching middle school at the middle school where I had actually been a student. I also taught high school at James B. Hunt High in Wilson, NC before getting married and moving to Rural Hall in 1998. After teaching for 2 years at RJ Reynolds High I received a Fellowship to attend Graduate School at Wake Forest University.  While at Wake Forest I was awarded a Richter Scholarship that funded research based international travel and I studied bilingual education for a month in  Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata, Argentina.  I spent 10 years at Mount Tabor and then traded my blue and gold for SILVER AND TEAL.  This will be my 5th year in  RAIDER NATION and I LOVE IT!   I have a daughter who is in 5th grade this year and she and my husband and I enjoy spending time at the beach and we spend lots of time on the soccer field! We also have 2 furry children, Oreo, our Japanese Chin and Daisy, our  Labradoodle.
