Welcome to Fourth Grade
Welcome to the 2015-2026 school year at North Hills Elementary. I am delighted to have your scholar in my classroom this year. My name is Miss. Spry and I’m from South Carolina. I’m a 2013 graduate of Winston Salem State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Currently I’m pursuing my masters in Executive Leadership Studies with Licensure in Administration. This school year will be full of fun hands-on intensive learning. I am excited to have you as a part of what will certainly be a successful school year. As a teacher, I will strive daily to create an educational partnership with you and your scholar that will foster courage, perseverance, determination, and passion for knowledge. In addition to this, my commitment as an educators will be to provide your scholar with a nurturing and challenging educational environment that will ensure his/her academic success in 4th grade.
Since the curriculum in 4th grade is very serious and challenging, homework will be an important reinforcement tool to help scholars achieve mastery with the standards. Homework will be assigned to your son/daughter almost every evening, Monday through Thursday. Throughout the school year, your scholar will also be responsible for various assignments that may require a commitment of time on his/her weekend to complete, however, these occasions will be limited and you will be given advanced notice of when they will be assigned and when they will be due to the classroom.
Since attendance and appropriate behavior at school are crucial to the learning process, it is imperative that your scholar attends school every day as a Roaring rams. If you scholar is absent or has to leave early please send a note stating why the scholar is missing instructional time.
Throughout the year if you are interested in coming into the classroom to volunteer please let me know. I would love to build a partnership with you to ensure that our common goal is to have your scholar reach his/her full potential. Please feel free to pop in the classroom at any time. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you in advance for both your support and partnership for this school year. I look forward to working with you throughout the year.
