The purpose of this course is to provide students with an accelerated study of various literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary. Freshman English instruction focuses on the central themes of maturation, diversity, and the development of compassion, empathy, and respect for others. Students will be introduced to the classics of literature and will be required to complete outside reading assignments with written and oral language exercises. Oh – and I promise we’ll have fun, too.

English 1 Supplies:
· Any three-ring notebook with four dividers (Label dividers with sections for DGP, Vocabulary, Literature, Channel One)
· Highlighters
· A flash drive (Strongly suggested, but not required. Any brand.)
· Paper & pens/pencils (blue or black ink only)
· One box Kleenex or Puffs (please!)
