English III students will analyze United States literature as it reflects social perspective and historical significance by continuing to use language for expressive, expository, argumentative, and literary purposes. The emphasis in English III is critical analysis of texts through reading, writing, speaking, listening, and using media.

AP Language and Composition  The purpose of the course is to emphasize the expository, analytical, and argumentative writing that forms the basis of academic and professional communication. This will be accomplished through the reading of both fiction and non-fiction texts, focusing on American literature.
