The Early College of Forsyth is a unique program which provides students an opportunity to take college courses while still in high school and graduate in four years with a high school degree AND an Associate's Degree. Students begin taking college courses in their freshmen year and by junior year are designing their own schedules. Are you ready for a challenge? Looking for an alternative to the big high school experience? Now in our fifth year, we provide a small-school, family-like atmosphere while offering opportunities for students to get a significant head start on college courses. Both college courses and college textbooks are FREE.
We're looking for mature, highly motivated rising ninth graders from across the county who would be a good fit for the ECF program.
We have approximately 220 students in grades 9-12 who come to us from a range of middle schools,
including Clemmons, The Downtown School, East Middle, Flatrock, Forsyth Academy, Hanes, High Point Christian, Jefferson, Kernersville, Meadowlark, Paisley, Piney Grove, Redeemer School, Southeast, Summit, Walkertown Middle, Wiley, and Winston-Salem Prep.
We have students who participate in activities at a number of area high schools,
including dance and marching band at Carver, wrestling at Parkland and East Forsyth, soccer at East Forsyth,
swimming at North Forsyth, basketball at Reynolds, as well as cross country, track, and golf at Mt. Tabor.
(Students who keep up with their academics can participate in sports and band at their home school.)
We have graduates from colleges and universities across North Carolina,
including UNC Chapel HIll, UNC Charlotte, Wake Forest University, NC State, Salem College,
UNCG, UNC Wilmington, Appalachian State, Western Carolina, and Winston-Salem State University.
