    MRS. MONROE'S CHEMISTRY SITE

What in the World isn't Chemistry?

Go ahead, try to think of something -- anything -- that isn't connected to chemistry. It's very difficult, if not impossible! This is why chemistry is oftencalled 'the central science'. It unites such diverse fields as physics & biology. In fact, a chemistry component is found in all sciences. Because of the ubiquitous nature of chemistry, we will be studying it in context. That is, we will learn chemical principles as we study real-world situations. This year I have prepared several lessons inspired by the Environmental Protection Agency's list of Superfund Sites -- areas of environmental pollution.
