Hello and Welcome to Advance Placement Government & Politics/Comparative Government.
A few things about myself, then some items about the course.
I live in Mocksville moving here in 2007 from Sarasota, Florida and  I grew up in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. I have been teaching since 2002 prior to entering education I was a lobbyist for over 20 years for Home Builders Associations in Sarasota and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  I also spent 2 years as the Director of Government Affairs for Comcast Cable of SW Florida.  Prior to becoming a lobbyist I worked for the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee, Pennsylvania House Campaign Committee, Republican National Committee, Reagan/Bush 84 campaign, in addition to consulting on a number of campaigns. I got my start as an intern for Congressman John Myers of Indiana.  I have a degree in Political Science from Davis and Elkins College and a masters in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education. I have one son who is in the United States Navy.
    The Course:
This is a college level course and will be taught in that fashion. I have two major goals, one to have you learn and pass the AP exam, and two, prepare you for the next level, which for many of you will be a college classroom.  Each student will be held to a high standard and is expected to take responsibility for their own education. The course will require a great deal of reading in order to be prepared for each day. The course syllabus is linked into this web page, please take a few minutes and review as it contains important details.
You will see a page on this web site named "Important Links" this is your go to page as it will allow you to link to the class Twitter page and the class Wiki page.  These will be updated every week or more often as needed. You can also directly access these pages...you do not have to go through this web page if you do not  wish.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me...I look forward to working with you this year
