    In 8th grade science we study some very interesting topics such as the hydrosphere, evolution, chemistry, microbiology, renewable and nonrenewable energy, symbiotic relationships, transfer of energy in food webs and scientific inquiry. I look forward to having you in class this year.     Classroom Expectations- Students are expected to come to class on time and bring all materials needed (including a pencil). Students are expected to maintain a quiet voice when allowed to talk and should not talk when the teacher is giving instructions. Students have assigned seats and are expected to stay in their seat unless getting required materials. 
    My expectations of the students is respect; respect for the teacher, your classmates and yourself. 
    Rules/Regulations- I expect students to follow all school rules including SMOD during my class. Students are not allowed to chew gum or use cell phones. Below is a link to a lab safety rules that will be enforced during labs in my classroom.

    Forsyth County Schools system-wide grading scale is a 10 point scale:

    Team Conferences
    The Patriots Team will be available to meet with parents most Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:45 and 11:00. In order to request a conference, please contact one of the team members, and we will be happy to schedule a meeting. Please understand that time is limited and arrive to your scheduled conference on time. If you are unable to attend your conference, please notify us as quickly as possible.
