Greetings!
My name is Martha Howell and I am extremely happy to be serving Kimmel Farm Elementary School working as an Intervention Specialist. This marks my eighteenth year of experience in education and my sixth year with Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools.
I have a Masters of Education degree with a concentration in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University. My Bachelor's degree is also in Education with a double major in History from Guilford College. My degrees are coupled with over 400 hours of training (including cognitive coaching) as a North Carolina Certified Literacy Coach. I was extremely proud to serve in a cohort of 200 selected teachers to train under Governor Easley's 21st Century Literacy Coach initiative. I believe just as we cultivate learning in children, we can also do that as adults. Educators are the ultimate life long learner.
I am certified in K-6 regular education, K-12 gifted education, grades 6-9 math, Literacy Coach, and Computer Education with Instructional Technology. I consider myself a lifelong learner and recently completed a Post Master's Certificate in school administration in August of 2015.
I enjoy working with children at the elementary level. In fact, I have two grown children and three grandchildren and am happy to show you a picture any time!
