When you enter class, we will always do a daily warm up for the first 20 minutes of class and we will have review quizzes after every unit on elements. After a review of new concepts, you will then be assigned independent or group work. Classroom Expectations 1.) Be prompt: You should be in your assigned seat with all materials needed for class and ready to work before the bell rings. 2.) Be prepared: You should have all materials with you when you come to class. This includes homework and materials needed for a productive class. (Binder, pen and flash drive) 3.)Be respectful: You should respect students and teachers and their property as well as school property. This includes such common courtesies as politeness, raising your hand to be recognized (during teaching, presentation, and discussion), listening while others are speaking, remaining in your seat during presentations, and keeping the room clean. Students will be required to sign a statement adhering to the usage of hardware and software including the internet. 4.) Follow Directions: All students are expected to follow the above classroom expectations as well as any other directions for classroom and school activities on a daily basis.    -Follow instructions the FIRST TIME give without talking back or arguing.    -NO HORSE PLAYING!!! Rules/Regulations 1.) An unexcused tardy will be issued if you are not in your seat when the bell rings according to school policy. Students should remain in their seats until the bell rings to end class unless teacher has granted to do otherwise. Trash can be placed in cans upon leaving class. It is the students responsibility to keep the work area clean. 2.) No food or drinks – Food and Drinks will not only distract you from the lesson but can also do damage to any electronic device that we will be using for our lessons. 3.) No surfing the web on unauthorized sites – There are certain sites on the internet that are not to be accessed during class times. Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and other social networking sites are also not to be visited during class. The internet will only be used with teacher permission and only on appropriate websites. 4.) NO CELL PHONES!! This rule has been fully implemented and will be followed out to the utmost by every teacher and administrator. NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES 1.       First Offense – Warning 2.       Second Offense – Teacher/Student Conference. Student must fill out behavior log. 3.       Third Offense – Teacher/Student Conference plus an email or call to parent. 4.       Fourth Offense – Detention after school with Coach Puryear. 5.       Fifth Offense – Parent/Teacher/Student Conference about classroom behavior. 6.       Sixth Offense – Visit to the office with written referral. POSITIVE CONSEQUENCES 1.       Verbal Praise 2.       Email or call to parent about individual’s good behavior. 3.       Students will get 5 minutes added to study game time on Friday’s. ***Any severe behaviors that are already outlined in the student handbook such as fighting, cursing, or anything that I feel is blatant disrespect to a teacher, student or property will result in immediately being sent to the office with a written referral.***  *** Any late assignments will be referred to the student handbook. 1 day late will result in a maximum of 80% to be earned, 2 days late will result in a maximum of 60% to be earned, and since we are trying to encourage the kids to do the work regardless, anything turned in after that will be given a 50% so that they will always have the opportunity to make up the work. *** Grading Policy School Grading Scale: A – 100 – 90 B – 89.9 - 80 C – 79.9 – 70 D – 69.9 – 60 F – 59.9 – Below Classwork (15%) Test/Quiz (20 %) Project (30%) Participation (35%)
