First grade is an exciting year!  We are looking forward to teaching your child and helping them become the best they can be.

 Your child will continue to grow with their reading skills and comprehension.  In math, we will use our problem solving skills.  In Social Studies, we will explore our history, culture, map skills, and community.  In Science, we will investigate rocks and minerals, weather, and our earth and sun.

 We will enjoy field trips to Twin City Stage to see live productions and Heritage Theatre to enhance our Science knowledge.  The Museum of Anthropology from Wake Forest University presents a program about Native Americans.

 Your child will become more independent and confident.  We look forward to working together to help your child grow.
