Principal

I have been a proud member of our KMS school community since 2015, first as an Instructional Facilitator, then an Assistant Principal, and now as the Principal. Before joining KMS, I was the Instructional Facilitator at Mineral Springs and spent ten years as an ELA teacher at Guilford Middle School in Greensboro. I am a National Board Certified Teacher, a Certified Reading Specialist, and hold an Advanced Learner Certification. In 2020, I earned my administrative license and stepped into the role of Assistant Principal, and I'm honored to now serve as your Principal.

As a parent of two former KMS students, I’ve had the unique opportunity to experience our school from both a parent’s and an educator’s perspective. I love getting to know our students and watching them grow and excel as they move through 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am also incredibly proud of our amazing faculty, who I’ve gotten to know as both colleagues and a parent. Together, we’re dedicated to empowering our students for an ever-changing world.

This is my 40th year in education, my 23rd year as an Assistant Principal, and my 14th year at KMS.

I love spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. I love to repurpose furniture and go to thrift stores. My favorite thing is to go out fishing on the boat. The ocean is my happy place.

Iesha Patteson

Instructional Assistant Principal

Ms. Patterson is the new Assistant Principal of Instruction at KMS! She is originally from North Carolina but grew up in various locations as an Army brat. She has worked as a lead teacher, coach, and Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL) in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School district. Mrs. Patterson also served in the Rowan-Salisbury School System for five years in various roles. Additionally, she is involved in nonprofit organizations such as Faith-in-Action, which aims to address disparities in education and provide resources to support communities and families.

Currently, Mrs. Patterson is pursuing her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University. She has recently completed her Administration Certification program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mrs. Patterson earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Strayer University and her Master of Education in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University.

Mrs. Patterson has been married to her husband for 17 years, and they have three sons. She currently lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys journaling, reading, event planning, trying new foods, and running. Her faith plays a significant role in her life choices, supporting the idea that her career path is a calling rather than just a job.
