Principal

Mr. Travis has served Main Street Academy Principal since 2014.  Mr. Travis has made a positive impact on the students at Main Street and increased the number of students that return to their home school, during his tenure.     

He received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina Central University and his Master's in Education Administration, from Virginia State University. He served as a Teacher and Principal in various school systems in Virginia. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Larry C. Berry

Administrative Support Assistant

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Berry has been an educator since 1970. He has served as a school administrator since 1973 as principal, assistant principal, and coordinator in school districts in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. He has been a principal for 33 years. Mr. Berry has served as the Transition Coordinator and Administrative Support Assistant at Main Street Academy (formerly Griffith Academy) since 2008. He has twin daughters and five grandchildren in South Carolina. He also serves as the PA Announcer for many sports events. He previously announced Wake Forest University and the Winston-Salem Warthogs. He has announced many of the NCHSAA Championship events. Mr. Berry also serves as the Process Manager for the School Improvement Team, the Testing Coordinator, the Bus Supervisor, the Intake Coordinator and the Technology Facilitator for student chromebooks.
