Welcome to Sherwood Forest! This is my 10th year at Sherwood Forest and my 22nd year as a school counselor. I graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology. I received my Masters Degree in Education from UNC-Chapel Hill. In 2002 I began working in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. I have been an elementary school counselor, a high school counselor, and a high school counseling director. I received my certification in K-12 School Counseling through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2005 and renewed that certification in 2014.
I strongly believe that EVERY child can succeed, and my job is to support students as they work to gain necessary academic, social and emotional skills. I aim to be a calming presence for our children and to help them understand their feelings and manage them in ways that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.
I cannot imagine a better place to work than Sherwood Forest! I have two wonderful children who attend Sherwood in Kindergarten and Fourth grade. I feel so fortunate to work with our students, staff and families everyday.
