Purpose

The primary goal of the safety patrol program is to enhance the safety of students during their arrival and departure from school, as well as during recess and other school activities. It aims to foster a sense of responsibility and leadership among participating students.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Patrol Members: Typically composed of older elementary students (usually in 4th or 5th grade), these students are assigned specific duties such as helping younger students cross streets safely, monitoring hallways, or assisting with bus loading and unloading.
2. Patrol Leaders: Often chosen from among the patrol members, these students may have additional responsibilities, such as overseeing their peers and coordinating with teachers and staff.
Implementation
1. Selection: Students are usually selected based on good behavior, academic performance, and a demonstrated sense of responsibility.
2. Scheduling: Patrol duties are often scheduled in shifts, during arrival and dismissal.
