The Downtown School: Renzulli’s Schoolwide Enrichment

The Downtown School is more than a school, we are a learning community strategically placed in the heart of our vibrant city. DTS offers exceptional educational opportunities with dynamic programming for Preschool, Elementary and Middle school on one campus.

Families live or work close by in order to apply to the lottery. Parents volunteer at least one hour a week which strengthens the curriculum. Learning beyond the classroom happens everyday, naturally embracing opportunities in the downtown community (Forsyth County Central Library, YMCA, Stevens Center, SawTooth). There’s outdoor classroom space, rooftop lunch tables, a Makerspace and a rooftop greenhouse with an active ECO club.

Every student receives individual attention with experienced teachers, which includes open classroom design, small class size of 15 students, and 45 students at each grade level. Enrichment Clusters every week offer student led learning opportunities that represents content outside the regular curriculum, such as: photography, fiber arts, videography, and coding.
