There are no educational funds available to address the tangible needs of students and families. To meet these needs, WS/FCS supports employee contributions via the The Lynne H. Berry School Buddies Fund. Items such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, and alarm clocks are provided through the School Social Work Office by financial gifts from WS/FCS employees, churches and civic groups. In cooperation with Mount Tabor United Methodist Church and Second Harvest Food Bank, the School Social Work Department manages the Food for Thought pantry, which provides emergency food for families of WS/FCS children. The handling fee charged by Second Harvest Food Bank is funded through donations to the fund.

Donations by check or cash may be made throughout the year to The Lynne H. Berry School Buddies Fund. They can be given to the school's social worker or sent to the School Social Work Department at 601 N. Cherry St, Suite 230, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or via interoffice mail to the School Social Work Department at City Market.  Payroll deduction cards are available to school employees at the beginning of the year at their schools.  They also may be obtained  by calling 336-748-4007.  For donations of school supplies to the School Social Work Department, please call 336-748-4007 to coordinate efforts.
