Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Our department is fortunate to have several members who are listed on the NC Department of Public Instruction Traumatic Brain Injury Registry. The State Department of Public Instruction has specific training and supervision criteria for school psychologists interested in working with students with Traumatic Brain Injury.

Typically, psychologists trained as TBI evaluators complete all such requests from their assigned schools. When other staff psychologists receive TBI evaluation requests from their schools, they are given to the Lead Psychologist, who then assigns cases to one of the trained TBI evaluators. These evaluators work in close collaboration with the school's team and the psychologist serving that school to identify and meet the needs of the student with Traumatic Brain Injury.
