Courses Offered

IC00 Construction Core - This course covers the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core certification modules required for all NCCER curriculum-area programs, and an additional green construction module. Modules include basic safety, construction math, hand tools, power tools, blueprints, material handling, basic communication skills, and basic employability skills. The Green module addresses the green environment, construction practices, and building rating systems.  The OSHA-10 Safety credential is also offered. 

IL55 HVAC/R - This course is designed for students to develop basic HVAC terminology and technical aspects of HVAC with emphasis on the development of introductory skills to include Intro to HVAC, Trade Mathematics, Basic Electricity, Intro to Heating, Intro to Cooling, Intro to Air Distribution Systems, Basic Copper and Plastic Piping Practices, Soldering and Brazing, and Basic Carbon Steel Piping Practices. Prerequisite: IC00 Construction Core

IL56 HVAC/R II - This course is designed for students to further develop skills mastered in HVAC/R I and provide an emphasis on Alternating Current, Compressors, Refrigerants and Oils, Leak Detection, Evacuation, Recovery and Charging, Metering Devices, Heat Pumps, and Basic Maintenance. Prerequisite: IL55 HVAC/R

IL57 HVAC/R III - This is designed for students to further develop skills mastered in HVAC/R II and develop advanced technical aspects of plumbing with the emphasis on Chimneys, Vents, and Flues, Sheet Metal Duct Systems, Fiberglass and Flexible Duct Systems, Commercial Airside Systems, Air Quality Equipment, and Introduction to Hydronic Systems. Prerequisite: IL56 HVAC/R II
