The department has a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) psychologist on staff who, in addition to serving assigned schools, provides district-wide bilingual support through assessment, consultation and support to staff, and consultation and communication with parents. The psychologist also facilitates collaboration and coordination with ESL teachers and speech-language pathologists in ELL evaluations.

The department has developed general guidelines, including considerations and a specific protocol for ELL evaluations. These documents will shortly be posted in the department website.
