    Elementary Music Curriculum

The North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Music Education as well as the Common Core Essential Standards for Music Education comprise the guidelines for all instructional goals. This year we will be using our textbook adoption that will serve as the core of our music instruction, "Spotlight on Music", published by McMillan/McGraw-Hill. This exciting text includes new songs and multimedia instruction from a wide variety of musical traditions and genres. To ensure that the songs and lessons are developmentally appropriate for the students, there is a separate textbook for every grade level from Kindergarten to fifth grade.
