WHO ARE WE?
Welcome to the DTS Student Council's webpage. We are a group of 24+ that represents the entire student body of The Downtown School. During our meetings, we discuss community service projects and vote on ones we want to support, plan school spirit activities, listen to suggestions, and talk about issues regarding our school. Representatives are elected from each 2nd through 5th grade classroom to attend the weekly meetings. K-1 students are invited to attend on a rotating basis. Our faculty advisor is Mrs. Laura Gottschalk
Our first order of business for this school year is to elect Student Council officers! All representatives are eligible to run for an office. The president will be one of our 5th grade reps. The vice president will be a 4th grade representative. One of our 3rd grade reps will be elected to serve as secretary and the treasurer will be from 2nd grade. This year's officers are:

Here is where you will find information about the community service projects in which we participate. We occasionally support more than one project at a time so be sure to check this section often.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - Pasta for Pennies, Shoeboxes for the Elderly, Samaritan Penny Drive, Can Food Drive for NC Food Bank.
