What time does the school day begin and end for students?
School doors open at 7:25AM. Instruction begins at 7:55AM. Students who arrive between 7:25 and 7:55 must report to the gym or cafeteria to eat breakfast where they will be provided adult supervision. Dismissal is at 2:25PM.
Are parents welcome to volunteer at the school?
Parents are encouraged to become involved in their childs school. Lewisville has a wonderful parent volunteer program. Contact the school office for more information. Parents are also welcome to have lunch with their child. For safety reasons, always report to the office first when you visit campus.
Does Lewisville have a student dress code?
Lewisville students are expected to abide by the school systems student dress code policy. This is included in the Parent/Student Handbook. A handbook will be furnished to each student.
Does Lewisville offer a sports program?
Lewisville does not offer team sports.
May parents request a specific teacher for their child?
Teacher requests are not accepted. However, each parent is given the opportunity to have input into their childs placement each year. Email Mrs. Balser abalser@wsfcs.k12.nc.us to share information about the type of learning environment that you feel suits your child. School/Home partnerships are so important and we value the input from parents. We will do our best to make sure your child is placed in the best learning environment possible.
Is Lewisville a strong academic school?
At Lewisville, our goal is to help each child achieve to the best of their potential. Our students score well on state tests. Refer to the NCDPI website at http://www.ncpublicschools.org for specific information.
Is free or reduced lunch available for students?
Applications for free or reduced lunch are available. Please check with your childs teacher or contact the main office.
May I check my child out early for an appointment?
Parents are discouraged from making appointments for their child during the school day. However, Lewisville understands that sometimes this cannot be avoided. For a student to be counted present for the day, they must be in attendance for half of the school day. We are requesting that parents refrain from picking up students from school between 2:00PM-2:25PM due to our dismissal procedures. If your child has an appointment, please pick them up prior to 2:00PM. Late arrivals are also discouraged.
