Welcome to Guidance
Sandra Maine, Counselor
I am very happy to be able to serve the students, parents, and teachers here at Old Town Elementary! This is my sixteenth year at Old Town! There are many ways that I will be working with students this year. I will be teaching guidance classes for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students. We will talk about honesty, responsibility, reliability, courage, and many other character education traits. I will be talking to all the students about all types of bullying including cyberbullying. Our students know that bullying is not tolerated!
Also, I will be working with Ambassadors, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students who were chosen by their teachers because of exemplary character. We will do service projects for our community such as collecting money for needy people for the Penny Drive through Samaritan Ministries and the American Red Cross. Also, there will be a Career Fair in the fall when the upper grades will be able to hear about different jobs. I will be assisting the 5th graders in selecting classes and registering for middle school. It's a busy year!! My door is always open!!
My favorite quote is by Mother Teresa: "We can do no great things--only small things with great love."
